    AOPA membership can be obtained by active aviators. In addition to the statement above; those who contribute to aviation can obtain a honorary membership.

    In order to become an 'All Aerodromes Card' holder, DHMI requires you to obtain a active membership of an aviation organization. AOPA is also an aviation organization recognized by DHMI.

    In addition to providing a social platform to our members, our primary goals are keeping their knowledge up-to-date through training, workshops and seminars and helping them to find solutions for their questions and problems.

    Pilot Services: We are striving to provide our members with guidance and assistive services, which are aimed at supporting the needs of pilots and aircraft owners on various issues such as legal issues, regulation, insurance, etc. 

    We attach great importance to providing transportation opportunities with the aircrafts of other members, when needed by our members and/or their families.

    AOPA's main purpose of establishment all over the world is to protect the rights of its members on national and international platforms.

    AOPA Türkiye is a member of IAOPA and maintains relations with other national AOPA branches through IAOPA.
  • Can flight planning and weather information be obtained from the AOPA Türkiye website?

    AOPA website is a platform from which you can obtain information about Notams, Meteorology and Squares. 

    Our privileged services include providing our members with a rich seam of information and resources regarding aviation, including updates to laws and regulations, safety information, airport information and other valuable resources for pilots and aircraft owners.

    We do not have a Flight Plan service at this stage. However, it's a work in progress.
  • Am I also able to benefit from the advantages of AOPA Türkiye when I’m a member of another national AOPA branch?

    AOPA card provides equal opportunities all over the world when used as a discount card. If you become a member of AOPA Türkiye, in addition to discounts, you will also have the opportunity to be represented at public institutions and support a platform which will defend your rights.
  • Does AOPA Türkiye organize aviation training and seminars?

    In addition to the training and workshops it organizes, AOPA also provides benefits from the educational institutions it cooperates with.

    In this context:

    Our activities further include highlighting and promoting flight safety and playing an active role by supporting educational initiatives (which may include safety seminars, online courses, publications and other materials) with which Turkish pilots can increase their skills and knowledge, and, if necessary, collaborating with industry partners to improve safety in general aviation.

    General aviation is a branch of civil aviation and refers to air transportation and aviation activities that do not serve certain specific purposes, such as commercial air transportation or military air forces, but are generally speaking for the use of private individuals and small businesses. General aviation typically includes aircraft used by individuals, small businesses, agricultural companies, educational institutions, and for tourist purposes.
  • Does AOPA Türkiye include Amateur and Sport aviation subjects?

    In our country, the concept of 'General Aviation' is better known as 'Amateur and Sport Aviation'. AOPA Türkiye appeals to those who are interested in aviation on a non-profit basis.
  • Are there any domestic or international flight tours organized/will be organized within AOPA Türkiye? What is its scope? Is there a requirement to be a member in order to able to participate?

    AOPA Türkiye organizes or supports flight tours within the scope of aviation activities. Its scope is determined according to demand and interest within aviation regulation. As well as organizing special tours for members, it can also act as a consultant/organizer for the requests of non-members.

    Group Cruises: It is an ongoing activity of ours to organize domestic and international (fly in-out) group cruises and to provide discounted and privileged participation opportunities for cruises organized by AOPA.
  • What is the contribution of AOPA Türkiye to general aviators and to the aviation in the country? (or what will it be?)

    It is our goal to create a network among the significant number of aviation enthusiasts, pilots and aircraft owners in Türkiye, to provide a productive platform for sharing experiences and addressing issues specific to the Turkish aviation community.

    One of our leading efforts is to identify members' problems and provide solutions by sharing them with relevant public institutions and to work on encouraging the development of general aviation, along with raising concerns about administrative and legal regulations by establishing positive relations. Futhermore, colloberating with official institutions and aviation authorities, and defending the interests of pilots and aircraft owners in local and national governments is included in our main activities.

    Additionally, AOPA works effectively to ensure and to promote that airports in Türkiye remain accessible for general aviation.
